	It just makes more sense if we're going to be discussing revenues and what we do with those revenues that you are given what our	00:08:48
	thoughts are at the time that we're building this budget with the rest of staff.	00:08:54

	April was chosen specifically because we already take our budget to Council.	00:09:03
	For the public hearings in May.	00:09:08
	So if I'm not getting to you in April and hearing from you, then I can't put any of your changes in there in time.	00:09:11

	So that Council can consider all the change. Who can say this is what was decided and discussed?	00:09:20
	So that's why April is a key date for us because it's prior to those final.	00:09:26
	Hearings in May and then we hear back from council and adopt in June.	00:09:31
	So we start prepping in March.	00:09:35
	So I can have some staff input prior to coming to you with it.	00:09:38
	We can have some projections for what?	00:09:42
	The amount of measure U is going to look like.	00:09:45
	This far in the year.	00:09:48
	So that's why April is a good time for us to present you some of our proposed budget figures.	00:09:50

	The our fiscal year ends in June, so we can review all of our.	00:10:06

	Our HDL analysis that we receive.	00:10:22
	Which basically they tell us trends.	00:10:24
	What the economy is looking like, what we can expect with that sales tax?	00:10:26
	So since in October, it's very early in the fiscal year, I won't have too much to report to you yet about actuals.	00:10:30
	That's a good time to then hear from HDL and.	00:10:36
	Have a good idea to start thinking about next year and changes and.	00:10:39
	Was our budget thought.	00:10:44
	Process even close to what things are looking like.	00:10:46
	With how the sales tax is doing so far.	00:10:50
	Um, so since we meet every three months, then January makes sense because we will have six months worth of data to look at.	00:10:53
	And show you what the first half of our fiscal year, what we've spent.	00:11:00
	What we have left?	00:11:04
	How sales tax is doing?	00:11:06
	From an actual perspective.	00:11:07
	And then start that process all over again with the budget revision.	00:11:09
	So what we take is a 2 year, but we still revise annually to make sure that if they're changes that need to be made, we do that.	00:11:14
	So that's an annual cycle for you all to consider.	00:11:21

	But I think it works well with continuing the three month every quarterly meeting with the Measure you committee and.	00:11:33

	About where those revenues come from the businesses and it's been insightful and.	00:18:47
	Help not only understanding what revenues you.	00:18:51
	You're potentially receiving.	00:18:54
	But identifying those businesses that.	00:18:56
	Are contributing to that and.	00:18:58
	Are there ways to help?	00:19:01
	Maintain, you know, preserving those texts.	00:19:02
	You know, sales tax generating businesses and then.	00:19:05
	You know, maybe enhancing that as well.	00:19:08
	Yeah, I think we get.	00:19:13

	And we sort of get.	00:19:22

	So we've been planning for that and working towards that and trying to get prepared for that so.	00:22:39

	It just makes more sense if we're going to be discussing revenues and what we do with those revenues that you are given what our	00:08:48

	April was chosen specifically because we already take our budget to Council.	00:09:03
	For the public hearings in May.	00:09:08
	So if I'm not getting to you in April and hearing from you, then I can't put any of your changes in there in time.	00:09:11

	So that Council can consider all the change. Who can say this is what was decided and discussed?	00:09:20
	So that's why April is a key date for us because it's prior to those final.	00:09:26
	Hearings in May and then we hear back from council and adopt in June.	00:09:31

	So I can have some staff input prior to coming to you with it.	00:09:38

	The amount of measure U is going to look like.	00:09:45

	The our fiscal year ends in June, so we can review all of our.	00:10:06

	Our HDL analysis that we receive.	00:10:22
	Which basically they tell us trends.	00:10:24
	What the economy is looking like, what we can expect with that sales tax?	00:10:26
	So since in October, it's very early in the fiscal year, I won't have too much to report to you yet about actuals.	00:10:30
	That's a good time to then hear from HDL and.	00:10:36
	Have a good idea to start thinking about next year and changes and.	00:10:39
	Was our budget thought.	00:10:44
	Process even close to what things are looking like.	00:10:46
	With how the sales tax is doing so far.	00:10:50
	Um, so since we meet every three months, then January makes sense because we will have six months worth of data to look at.	00:10:53
	And show you what the first half of our fiscal year, what we've spent.	00:11:00

	How sales tax is doing?	00:11:06
	From an actual perspective.	00:11:07
	And then start that process all over again with the budget revision.	00:11:09
	So what we take is a 2 year, but we still revise annually to make sure that if they're changes that need to be made, we do that.	00:11:14

	But I think it works well with continuing the three month every quarterly meeting with the Measure you committee and.	00:11:33

	But identifying those businesses that.	00:18:56
	Are contributing to that and.	00:18:58
	Are there ways to help?	00:19:01
	Maintain, you know, preserving those texts.	00:19:02
	You know, sales tax generating businesses and then.	00:19:05
	You know, maybe enhancing that as well.	00:19:08
